about

Searching for Now is an album blending rock, contemporary classical, and jazz influences into a rather genre-less series of tracks. Some tracks lean heavily on the rock side, some heavily on the neoclassical or soundtrack side, and others with multiple styles throughout the song.

Comprised of a series of smaller, shorter tracks, this album deviates from my prior releases with the focus on a high track count and short track duration. The result is a kaleidoscope of style and genre. Composed, performed on guitar, mixed, and mastered entirely by myself, this work is start-to-finish an exploration of my favorite types of music to write and play.

The title reflects a play on words; I am “searching for the now” in each moment of my life, in an attempt to find mindfulness and inner peace. Perhaps I will be “searching, for now,” for “the now”, but I have a feeling that I will be “searching for the now” for my entire life. The cover is a photo taken from the top of Mount Washburn in Yellowstone National Park, showing a trail across the edge of a hill with clouds and space filling the background. The darkness and colors introduced portray the darkness in this album that sometimes clouds the path of “now”, while the coloration indicates the colors that lie beneath the shroud.

Take a listen, enjoy, and search for “now” in your life, at least for now.
